Around the Block with a Splash

This quilt is a special order for her MIL for Christmas.

01

Her suggestions were: greens, browns, nature-y, with a splash of red.  I used a purchased pattern that I altered for the splash of red and love this so much I have 2 more planned in other colors to sell.

02

A special label with all the family names.

Close-up of the quilting.  I just played with the machine and had leaves, feathers, and vine/swirls for the quilting.

Royal Stars

This quilt is for her son’s graduation and he helped with pattern selection, fabrics, and the quilting ideas.  They make a great team!  While this was waiting for a turn to be quilted, I had it hanging in my studio with all the waiting quilts.  It was a joy to walk in my room and see the dramatic color and piecing of this hanging there.

Together they decided on variegated thread and a stars design in the quilting.

Even ready to be shipped out in a box, the quilt is lovely!
